pastor's welcome
Dear friend, thank you for taking the time to learn more about Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, Texas. We seek to be an historically rooted congregation that connects to the world around us with the unchanging truth of God's Word. We are excited about our
vision for historic Presbyterianism in the Texas Panhandle.
So you can know something about me, I am proud to be an adopted son of West Texas. I was born in Meridian, Mississippi and spent my childhood in Alabama. My family moved to Lubbock, Texas when I was nine years old, and we have loved West Texas ever since. I met my dear wife Kandice while we were students at Lubbock High School. We married in 1998 and graduated from Texas Tech University in 2003. We moved to Mississippi in 2003 and I graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi in 2007. We now have three children, Maggie, Christopher, and Elizabeth Rose. While in seminary, I had the privilege of serving the Carthage Presbyterian Church in Carthage, Mississippi under Rev. Dan Gilchrist IV.
I absolutely love what I do. As the pastor of this flock, I set five priorities for myself: pray, preach the Word, love the people, cultivate leaders, and promote strong families. Over all of these goals is a desire to set an example for the flock in living a godly life. These goals affect each other, and consume the bulk of my time and energy.
Please feel free to read through our website. This website is part of our ministry to you, where we not only let you know about what God is doing with our church, but also put you in contact with rich Christian resources from across the web.
You are always welcome at Redeemer. You are cordially invited to worship with us, and I look forward to meeting you.
Sincerely,
Chris |
